New Sign-Up Sheet is Posted
If you haven't yet had a chance to sit down with Mr. Berardi and work through your lines (or if you have, but you have a lot of lines, and want/need more help), there is a new sign-up sheet posted for the next two weeks outside of his room, 145. First come, first served!

GeVa Summer Musical Theatre Academy
I received a brochure today from GeVa Theatre (a professional, Equity theatre company based in Rochester -- if you don't know about it, you should!). They're offering their annual Summer Academy focusing on Musical Theatre. Program runs 5 weeks (July 5 -- August 5) in Rochester, Monday -- Friday. They will choose 30 actors, ages 12-18, based on auditions and interviews. I'll post the information outside my door. Auditions are Friday 3/18-Sunday 3/20, by appointment, and you can schedule them beginning Feb. 22. See me for more information!

Do you like free money? : )
Yes, it's that time again! Every year, for the past few years, we ask cast members to help us raise money for the show by selling ads for the show program. Tonight (Wednesday) at rehearsal, you'll get copies of a little folded "brochure" that has information about ads. Please take a few (5 or so to start?) and talk to parents, relatives, and various local businesses and groups that you have some sort of connection to about supporting what we do by buying an ad. On the inside of the brochure, there is a diagram that shows the actual size of each ad (ranging from 1/8 page to a full page) -- if they want, they can write the information directly on the space, and then we'll make it look nice on the computer for the actual program. They can also e-mail materials to me (tim.berardi@hornellcsd.org), or attach a hard copy of a logo, business card, whatever, and I'll do the best I can to make it a part of their ad.
Besides helping out the show, why would you want to sell ads? BECAUSE YOU CAN WIN $50 CASH!
Yep. Person who sells the most (in terms of total $$$ amount) by the deadline of Monday, March 7th, will win $50 in cash. So, get out there and start selling!
If you have any questions, feel free to see Mr. Berardi.

There's a schedule posted outside Mr. Berardi's room (145) with time slots available every day this week (5th, 8th & 9th periods, and after school). If you're not available during any of these times, please see him, or leave a comment here (below) and we can arrange a better time. You need to try to sign up and meet with him to discuss your lines and your role THIS WEEK if at all possible. Please sign up for only one time slot (for now) until everyone has had the chance to meet once.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Words to know! (Post 3)
Sorry to get all "English teacher" on y'all, but I thought this might help...
There are quite a few strange words and terms in the script and the song lyrics. I've created a sort of "flashcard/game" on www.dictionary.com. You may have to sign up as a member to be able to view/use it, but I think it'll be worth it.
You'll get definitions of the terms and words, a pronunciation guide for each, and -- in many cases -- you can actually click on the word to hear it being pronounced correctly.
It's set up as a series of games and activities, but I have no idea if it will reset for each user. Take it for what it's worth, which may be a whole lotta nuttin'.

The Rules... (Post 2)
Just so everyone is crystal clear...
Our job (meaning "The Production Staff," primarily Mr. Belin, Mr. van Leeuwen and Mr. Berardi) is to post news and information here that we need you to know.
Your job is to read it, and pay attention to what's going on.
Your job does NOT include posting comments (unless specifically requested), or photos, or links to funny videos, or offering suggestions to each other.
In a word: Don't. If anyone posts things here that even begin to resemble a problem, you'll be blocked from this blog. And if that isn't enough... well, let's hope that's enough. ; )
Have fun here, but play nice. This ain't Facebook.

Welcome! (Post 1)
Expect to see some changes and tweaks in the design of this space, but the purpose will remain constant: It's the place to look for news, information, updates, notes and all kinds of stuff related to the upcoming Hornell High School production of Pippin!
Get used to checking here at least once (or more) each day -- this will be our primary means of communication with the cast and crew. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't listen carefully to announcements, and perhaps the occasional note/poster outside Mr. Belin's, Mr. van Leeuwen's and Mr. Berardi's rooms.
